Haven't blogged in a long time, TWO MONTHS! Been very busy with everything - work- baby - family - dog. Very time consuming. I am thrilled to say that we now have Satellite t.v. and my world has changed completely. It's so much easier to plan when I want to watch t.v. now!
Keegan is resting....another stomach bug. Poor guy! But he is getting H-U-G-E! And funny. And serious. He makes my "serious" face but still is the spitting-image of his dad. WHO HE LOVES more than anyone...including me. Wah. But that's o'kay....I know he loves me, but when his dad walks into the room-WATCH OUT.
I have been busy on Facebook. If you aren't a member, you should join. It's another way to keep in touch and look at updated pics!
All is well in the Jacobs' household. The "dining room" has more toys than Gatti-Town (or Chuck E. Cheese for you northerners)! Poor Wrangler has no place to lay in his "room" anymore.
We love and miss everyone so much....I am going to try and update this thing more often..it's hard to find time but I will make time now! (If only work would allow it-JUST KIDDING!)
Just remember, in case you have forgotten:
Love. You. All.

Bad to the Bone

November 25th, 2008

It has been over a month since I have updated this blog. Mom (CiCi) can stop sending me threatening emails now (just kidding)!! I can't help it though, or I guess I really can, it takes time to blog and when you have a almost 6 month-old and a 100 pound black lab "puppy" it's hard to find the time!
So much has happened and is happening, first I have to say to my friends Christina & Taylor Polk - CONGRATULATIONS! They just had baby Leigh Wilson yesterday! So exciting! I know big brother Banks is happy too!
Now on to what you all want to know about...Keegan! He is STILL SICK. No more Salmonella (love daycare) but has had this cough for FOREVER. Still doing the breathing treatments and he loves them (being sarcastic). It's hard to get an almost 6-month old to sit still with a breathing mask over his face. We go to the doctor (again) on December 1st for his "well-baby" appointment (seems ironic doesn't it, having spent so much time at the doctor's office already) so I will have lots of questions for the doc. Have you seen that Seinfeld episode where is Elaine keeps inquiring about an "itch" and the doctors refuse to see her or will write stuff down on her chart?? That is the Jacobs' family. We aren't going to be allowed back! Just give us a shot or antibiotic THAT WORKS! PLEASE! Thanks for letting me vent!
Halloween was fun, Keegan was the "Great Pumpkin". He also had a mullet thanks to Aunt Bran'! I worked Mistletoe and my mom and sis' kept Keegan at Brandy's house. I stalked them at 5:30 a.m. and went by there to see Keegan. I can't be away from the little stinker (thanks to pears).
Robert is doing great, LOVES LOVES LOVES his job and we are so thankful. We prayed about it and the Lord blessed us. Can't express how happy about him working there. But do we have to watch the Golf Channel at home too? UGH.
I promise to update the blog more! I will try to when the little sumo-wrestler is napping!
Hugs and Kisses!

Keegan LOVES to be read to, here is one of his favorite books.

Happy Halloween!

Loving himself as a pumpkin....

Mr. Mullet Man. Yes, that is a mullet wig my sister found and it is on my naked kid.

Mullet side-view. One day Keegan is going to get me back for posting all these pics. Oops.

It has been such a long time since I last blogged! We went on our Girls' Trip to Destin - Beverly, Chyna, Merideth and myself and it was a lot of fun. The weather was beautiful and we got to relax by the ocean! I missed my boys, though, but being with my best friends helped me to not "boo-hoo" every day! I was glad to get back, as you can imagine.
While I was gone (Robert also went out of town) Keegan stayed with his Cici and Aunt Brandy in Vicksburg! They had so much fun, as you can tell from below. When I returned on that Sunday, Keegan looked like he had grown SO MUCH, but I am sure he didn't really!
Keegan also started his new school, Ridgecrest and we love it! A lot of our friends' children go to school there so that made the transition easy!
OH, probably the most important information: We are so PROUD AND HAPPY FOR ROBERT!! He got a job as an assistant Golf Pro at Jackson Country Club! I can't tell you how relieved/happy/joyful we are about it. It's been a rough couple of months and we are extremely thankful to all of you for being there for us. We are truly blessed! Until next time! (where did I get that from...am losing it!)

This was a monumental weekend...Keegan found out he has a tongue. And he loves his tongue.

Did I mention he likes his tongue????

Keegan made a new friend - Mr. Zebra. They are having a very important conversation.

Using the tongue as a washcloth...loves bath time

Yum...I taste good.

Wondering why his every move is being captured on camera - there is no privacy for an infant!

Trying to knock out the paparazzi (a.k.a Aunt Brandy)!

Baby Rocky Balboa...

This is Keegan in his new exersaucer/walker thingy. Notice how his feet ARE NOT touching the ground!!

In order for Keegan to move in his exersaucer and get the full use out of it, Cici attached a leash to the front of it and proceeded to pull him around for the entire weekend! LOVE IT!

He loved it! He thought he was going "fast"!

Keegan loving on Cici....

Doesn't he look like he was "busted" doing something, probably with that tongue of his!

To end....I have struggled with what to dress Keegan as for Halloween. I have decided he will go as: GENE SIMMONS from KISS! WOOHOO!!!! Love. That. Tongue.

Pictures from the "Big Day" Keegan's first cereal feeding!

Look at the concentration on Robert's face....very serious moment in our lives!

Profile of the "first feeding" !

Keegan's not so sure about this stuff! Just so you know, I fed him this bite, which was an enormous one!

Once Keegan got the hang of it, this was his reaction! This boy loves his rice cereal! WOOHOO!

This is what four month old thighs look like. Notice the bandaids from his shot. He was so brave!

This is Keegan's version of aerobics. Notice the stretching, he is reaching for the Kosh (Osh, that is!)!!

This is the way Keegan has been "talking". He tucks his bottom lip into his mouth. He is having a conversation with Wrangler!

Wrangler, as you can tell, is extremely interested in what "Gumby" is saying...

Do not adjust your computer screens...I took a picture of Keegan upside down. I am very crafty like that. Love. Those. Eyes.

It has been forever since I have last blogged! We have had a lot going on and Keegan is getting bigger by the second.
Today was Keegan's FOUR MONTH check up. I can't believe he is four months old. Time is flying by. He is getting so big and so much fun. He smiles and laughs constantly and loves to "talk" A LOT. Here are Keegan's stats: Height - 26 inches - 85th percentile; Weight - 15.06 pounds - 70th percentile; and (Little) Head - 40 cm - 30th percentile. He has a little head like his daddy. And big ears like mommy. Those ears would be in the 99th percentile! Tonight we start RICE CEREAL! Oh the excitement! I will be sure to add pictures to the blog of that.
Last night we got to go to dinner for Aunt Fifi's birthday! It was so much fun. We love you Aunt Fifi!
Miss everyone tons, here are the pics from the other day, complete with captioning!
Love you all!

It's all about the hair....sticking straight up.

Side view of the "hair". Daddy is thrilled that I am making fun of him.

Close up of the "do". That height, such body!

Keegan's foot could be the body double for Fred Flinstone's. Wide with no arch. Love. That. Foot.

Lounging...hair standing straight up.

My boys...aren't I lucky? (YES!)

Wild Man - you want this kid at your parties????

He looks a little perturbed...wonder why? (I am always taking pictures, the flash is probably too much for him!)

Sitting in his big boy chair in his room..a little unsteady!

Tipping over....still holding on to his Lamb!

Loving on his Lamb! So happy!

Mr. Moon Pie Face. Love. That. Face.

We have had a busy weekend! First, we were very sad The Grands did not get to come, but Ike proved to be a problem!
Friday night we celebrated Mom-Mom and Pawpaw's b'days at the Jacobs. We didn't get play cards and were home BEFORE midnight! There are some snapshots from that night below!
Saturday we went to Chris and Wendy's for Skylar's 4th birthday! We had so much fun and Keegan got to sit in the BUMBO, love it!
Sunday we did nothing, got to see Aunt Brandy briefly and hung out at home, we needed to rest from the weekend!
Monday night was cousin Abby's 5th birthday, we had a blast.
I have to give a shout out to Wendy and Julie (Mom-Mom) and their cake baking skills. You should start a business!
Busy weekend and busy month! We are looking forward to Aunt Fifi's birthday at the end of the month! Take care and we miss and love you all!

He is going to be soooo bad! You can see it in his eyes!

I love this picture! He is so happy in his camo and crocs! Love Him!!

He is soooo ready to hunt!

Wednesday, September 10th

Happy Birthday PawPaw (Mike)! We love you very much! I just have to brag about Keegan's grandparents, all of them. Keegan is so lucky to be able to grow up and know how wonderful these people are. One day, when he looks back, I hope he has the best memories of growing up with them, as Robert and I do with ours. What a blessing to be able to spend time with them. We can't thank them enough for everything they have done and continue to do for us! WE LOVE YOU!

Best Friends....

Busy Weekend!

This past weekend we had so much fun! Friday night we went to the Jacobs' for our weekly eat-play-have fun card game and managed to get home BEFORE midnight! Mom-mom (Julie) makes the best food and since we had all had the stomach bug we really appreciated all that good food!
Saturday, Aunt Brandy came over to play and help me with Keegan's playroom! We moved out our old sofa and "donated" it to the Salvation Army. Now Keegan has a playroom! We also watched the Ole Miss game and we are so proud of those Rebels! Even though we lost (barely) we love our new coach and the team looks great!
Sunday we went to Anna Claire's birthday party. Keegan got to wear his swimsuit and his "crocs"! Love 'em! We had so much fun!
We are looking forward to our Great Grands coming this weekend and Pawpaw's and Cousin Skylar's birthday, too. The month of September is a busy one, but we are so blessed with all of our family being able to get together! Can't wait to see everyone!

Game Day - practicing the "arm reach" for when he gets a girlfriend!

Attempting to put Keegan in his carry-on thingy. It took all three of us. He looks thrilled at the idea!

Putting Aunt Brandy to work!

Keegan in his "crocs"!

His attire for the pool party!

At the end of the pool party, not much of a party-goer (yet)!!

Enjoying tummy time

Staring at Wrangler!

Labor Day Weekend!!!

I took Keegan to Cici's and Papa's in Vicksburg. Aunt Brandy and Jackson rode with us and we are hanging out all weekend. We gave daddy and Wrangler some "guy" time, meaning they are probably playing Golden Tee, watching golf, and resting!
Go rebs! We are waiting for Ole Miss to play and hopefully beat Memphis! WHOOHOO! Hotty Toddy!
Keegan is ready, with his Ole Miss outfits (several due to him spitting up on them) and his "toddy" - Enfamil A.R.!
On a serious note, we are watching the news in regards to Hurricane Gustav...we hope and pray it's nothing like Katrina or that it doesn't come our way. I don't think I can handle not having electricity again. Hope to see you all soon!

Getting ready for some football!!

Enjoying some Enfamil - yummy!

Super K!!

Wondering where the remote is....

Almost "Neck Sighting" part 2!

Doesn't he appear to be saying, "Hey, where's the party?" Notice the spit up (running out of Ole Miss outfits and it's only 1:30!)

This is what one looks like after having too many Enfamil "toddies" at lunch!

Friday night....Keegan loving on Aunt Brandy!

Sleepy (big) boy!

Papa telling Keegan about the big Dove hunt next weekend!

Mr. Mohawk Man

Mr. Mohawk Man
Keegan has a lot of hair, it just happens to be on top of his head, rather than on the sides! He has perfected the art of the comb-over!!

Another view of the mohawk or faux-hawk!

Another excellent view of the "killer hawk"

It's been a while!!

For some reason my camera won't download our pics' to our computer so I haven't been blogging! Everything is going great, Keegan is getting BIGGER by the second. Mom dropped Wade off at Bran's and we got to hang out with them on Saturday. School has begun and I have been so tired, trying to get used to getting up and being at work so early. I apologize if I haven't called anyone in ages, but that is what I have been doing! Keegan is coo'ing a lot more now and smiling ALL THE TIME. He loves to look at his daddy and Wrangler! We borrowed the Jacobs' video camera so now we will have some live footage of our little man (just sitting there though, no creeping or crawling)! Miss everyone and will "blog" soon!

Happy Baby!!!

I love that double chin...There was ALMOST a neck sighting, haven't had one of those in a while!

Must you take another picture???

Mister Magoo

He used to be way too small for this, now he is way too big!

Would be a cute picture if my big nostrils weren't in it! Watch out Keegan!

Just hanging out in dad's "office"

Happy Birthday to Aunt Brandy!

It was my gorgeous sister's 27th birthday on Thursday - can you believe she is single? We love you!

Happy Birthday to Grandpa Tom!

Happy Birthday to Grandpa Tom!
It was also my dad's birthday (August 5th). We love and miss you very much!

A Week of "Firsts"...

This past week was a week of "firsts". My first day back to work, Keegan's first day at "school", our first fever/doctor's visit, and our first time Keegan slept overnight without his parents!
Work is great, I have a smaller class size this year because now we have ELEVEN first grade teachers! I have an inclusion class this year so it should be a very interesting year working with those students (They didn't qualify to leave to go to our ELL teacher so they stay in the class with me. They all speak English pretty well though!).
Keegan did great at school all week, the teachers love him and they didn't care when I would call to check on him. We love Ms. Pam, Ms. Annette, and Ms. May!
Thursday when I picked Keegan up he felt warm, we took his temperature, saw that he had a fever, and of course, as new parents, had no clue what to do. Keegan went to the doctor Friday and when they took his temperature, he didn't have one. Typical! He does weigh 13lbs. though. That formula is really working! He is wearing 6-9 months clothes now. Such a big boy!
Brandy's (my sis) birthday was Thursday but we celebrated Friday night! Meaning, we all went to El Sombrero and ate until we thought we would combust! LOVED IT! She had a yummy cake too! We love Aunt Brandy!!
Saturday night we went to a party for our friends Robert and Stacey who are getting married soon. Keegan slept overnight at Aunt Bran's. Cici was there too and they had a lot of fun! It was hilarious watching them drive away because we loaded up the car (with bags, strollers, pack n' play - all for one night) and I stood in the driveway, waving, missing Keegan. Fortunately, Brandy lives 6 houses down so I could watch them unpack all that stuff and even take Keegan out of the car! I can't thank them enough for allowing Robert and myself to have some grownup time - we had a blast at the party although all we talked about was Keegan! The other people at the party were talking about their kids too, it's amazing how the subject changes as we get older!

My little Ewok

Cici bathing Keegan in a grownup tub. Notice the washcloth strategically placed!

Sharing the couch with Aunt Brandy

Keegan and Wade

My mom and John have a new son, er..dog, named Wade. He is precious! The first time he met Keegan he wasn't sure what Keegan was. The first picture is of Wade on me (trying to get to Keegan). The second picture is what happened when I got up for five seconds!

This is after a long of day of being picked up - it can be exhausting!!

Our little man

Today was Keegan's first day of "school". I was SO SAD and couldn't stop crying (such a baby) but Keegan did wonderful! I walked in and he was in a bouncy seat watching Baby Einstein and listening to classical music! I only called once, too! I feel tons better, thanks everyone for making me feel better about today.

Bath time!!

Posing for the camera...

Loving Daddy

About to throw a fit...

Happy Birthday Great Grandpa!! We love you very much. Thank you for everything that you have done for us (and built for us). We miss you tons and can't wait to see you again!!

I wish you could see Keegan's shirt. It was the first outfit his dad bought him and it says, "Party at my crib, 2:00 a.m.". We also cut it off midway to make it into a t-shirt. We are really trying hard to turn him into a redneck!

Check out these thighs...., look like mommy's!

Friday, August 1, 2008

Well, I am supposed to be working in my classroom, but you see what I am doing instead. I can't bring myself to acknowledge that it is the end of summer and back to work (sad)! We have had a great summer and I have learned a lot about being a mommy. It's going to be hard to leave Keegan but I do love my job and the friends I work with and he is going to be taken care of by wonderful people this year!
Keegan had his two month checkup on Tuesday. Last time he weighed 7lb. 10 oz. - this time he weighed 12lbs. 3 oz.! WOW! He loves to eat! Here are pictures from that day, notice the bandaids!

I am very new at this blogging stuff! I JUST figured out how to download pics onto my computer from my digital camera (sad)! We have had a busy summer with lots of visitors. Keegan has been spoiled by his grandparents, great grandparents, aunts, and uncles! We are very blessed to have such wonderful family who have traveled very far to meet our little man. We love you all and can't wait to see you again!
